New storage cluster: Dasabo doubles its data redundancy

New storage cluster: Dasabo doubles its data redundancy

In professional hosting infrastructure, data safety is not optional: it is the foundation. Our customers’ websites, databases and mailboxes hold years of work, orders, communications and information that cannot be lost. That is why today’s announcement is about a major step forward in our redundancy system: a new storage cluster that doubles the level of data redundancy.

What changes

In a redundant storage system, data does not live on a single disk or server: it is replicated across several independent nodes. If a component fails, the data remains available from the other copies and the system automatically rebuilds the missing redundancy.

With the new cluster we have doubled this level of protection: data is spread across more nodes and more independent copies, so the system can tolerate more simultaneous failures without data loss or service interruption.

Why it matters

No hardware is infallible. Disks, controllers, power supplies and network links can fail, and in large infrastructure failures are part of everyday life. What makes the difference is how the infrastructure is designed to absorb them. More redundancy means:

  • better continuity: a component failure does not take websites offline;
  • stronger integrity: data stays consistent and available even while copies are being rebuilt;
  • safer maintenance: we can work on individual nodes, replace hardware or update systems without putting data at risk.

Redundancy and backups: two different layers

It is worth being clear that storage redundancy does not replace backups. Redundancy protects against hardware failure: if a disk breaks, the data is still there. But if a file is deleted by mistake or a website is compromised, that change is replicated to every copy. That is what backups are for: separate historical copies that let you roll back to an earlier state.

Our hosting services include regular backups that you can restore from the control panel. The new cluster strengthens the first layer of protection; backups remain the second, essential one.

What it means for customers

For customers the change is transparent: there is nothing to do, no settings to change and no downtime to plan. Websites keep running as before, on infrastructure that is more resilient to failure. The new cluster works alongside the NVMe storage already in use and supports the 99.9% uptime SLA we offer on our services.

This work is part of our ISO 27001-certified information security management system, which calls for ongoing risk assessment and continuous improvement of our protection measures.

What comes next

We will keep investing in the resilience of our infrastructure and will share the most significant updates here. If you have questions about the new cluster or how your data is protected, our team is available through the Client Area ticket system.
